the hottest autoX tire topic seems to be mainly about street tires.

I drive a 76 spitfire in FSP and have run Kuhmo V710 195-55-14 R compounds for years.

Kuhmo discontinued the line...ugh

So I'm shopping for a new tire that might fit .....13 or 14 inches....and is as sticky as the Kuhmo

so far all I see is a Hoosier R7...not as sticky as V710

If you want a better V710, you'll want a Hoosier A7 which is no-question the best DOT R-comp for FSP and a lot stickier than V710.

You could go with Kumho V720, but V720 is a street tire, not a DOT slick like V710 was, but honestly... I think V720 is faster than V710 despite the 200TW rating; the technology has jumped leaps and bounds in the past 10 years.  The new street tires are very very good.  They're not as fast as an A7, but still pretty great.  None of the top tires right now (RE-71R, RivalS, V720, R-S4, or SUR4G) come any smaller than 15", though, so if you're sticking with 13 or 14" in FSP, A7 is your ticket.
