I had a line on M2005 HJC open face helmets for like $75ea shipped. That's where some of our loaners came from. If that deal is still available - I'll find out shortly - maybe I'll include it in our monthly email newsletter. Could you post it here, too, for us southsiders?

Sadly that deal is now long gone, although I found one almost as good. I'll post it elsewhere on here shortly for all.

Having real difficulty getting a helmet for your heat & having to hot-swap with another driver is probably the biggest possible incentive for buying one of your own! They're certainly not a negligible cost, and if they're readily available and in good condition, there's not much incentive to buy your own. Maybe the real answer is to stop bringing so many helmets? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Or, you could do like Mike did to me and just constantly make fun of regulars until they finally give up and buy one! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pardon.gif) Pending one of the 3 tires coming out in February knocking them off the platform, I was planning to race Star Specs this year. I keep hearing about how the gap is closing, but I'm curious- how do they compare to R-Comps in practice? The cold probably isn't typical, but how many seconds difference do you think it would be for a typical autox? Its difficult to say. They worked differently (not at stiff as A6, being full tread and all) but I thought the grip was impressive after the second run. Once I got some confidence in them, I was impressed. AJ (killersoundz) can give you his impressions; he rode with me. I can't imagine not liking them in street tire class. |

Great event Sunddddday (still shivering but luckily no cold from it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) )
This course was a lot of fun and I thought much different than any recent ones. The gates were wide, which let you get away with a little more given the lack of grip but still have room to navigate via throttle (I left the Azenis at home thinking they'd get no grip) I think there was some good speed to be found in the back side of the course, coming toward the finish especially for those looking far ahead. I found I would brake before a transition and realize in the next it really wasn't needed. I was testing out my new suspension, found it rubbed in a few corners (slight raise should correct) but generally felt smooth for the heavy rates and the linear springs gave good feedback vs. the old progressive setup. Dan, Brian and Jim were simply flying, did I miss the tire warmers yall had in grid? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Martin had some excellent times on those street tires too. Aaron, I have to apologize for referring to the FX16 as a Honda. I'll blame it on no glasses but the Toyota gods will not accept that excuse. Brian |

No kidding, last time I said you shouldn't bother worrying about your tranny having too many miles. The next event I lost 2 synchros on my 198k tranny (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
