Come on guys what gives, tons of runs = tons of experience. Run as hard as you want for 4 runs, then use the rest as a test and tune. The courses have been fast, technical, and theres usually good competition. |

It was indeed a great idea, but it wasn't my idea. I was just the one who said "ya know what, we DO have time for that!" (at Langley anyway... VMP notsomuch due to nearby church quiet hour until noon.) We will do it again as often as we can.
Now to get everyone else on the bus, we are in the process of giving the entire 9/28 VMP 3rd heat to Toyota so they can offer free entries for a bunch of regional Scion owners. Paperwork will hopefully be done on that deal this week. As always we are looking to expand this program in every way possible, and give anyone interested in "cars that turn" a great place to play. +1 - the page was having some issues when attempting to register - didn't pop up and ask me to logon like it normally does after I hit register. I had to login and then register. Just FYI. Could be my browser.

Steve, they recently launched the new and improved registration system. So far so good, although it makes my recently posted registration FAQ/walk-thru obsolete. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
Angela appears to be the first signup with the new system. The email receipts are certainly different, as I discovered this morning. That's very cool Nick! Best of luck to her! Jon |

I won't be able to make this one, I have a class I have to attend Thur-Sun (unless someone has holographic capability they can lend) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Sorry to miss it, sounds like it will be a good one, isn't VMP always good though? |

Huge thanks to everyone who came out today!!!
Extra special thanks to Mr. James Packer, without whom today's event could not have happened, for his AMAZING work as registration chief and timing chief simultaneously. Also we are happy to report that our new timing system works great; we just need to figure out how to use it more efficiently on short notice. As far as I know we will soon be the first autocross group in the area to post results online before we leave the event site. But more on that later. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Two related pieces of news: 1) This was one of the best autocrosses we have ever put on. 50+ drivers got 9+ runs each, it never rained, and we were done well before 5pm. Mike Junior Johnson very kindly came out this morning and laid down one of the finest course designs we have ever seen IMHO. It was safe and smokin' fast but also quite technical. Video example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bw-DKHcBNhQ Results: http://www.get-fast.net/nasacross/092808res.htm (As you can see there are some dropped times and several things that need to be fixed. I have been trying to finish 'em tonight but I need to sleep, and truth be told I'm not as familiar with the new software as I need to be, so please check the link above on Monday night for the corrected provisional results.) 2) Nov 23 & Dec 7 at VMP are not cancelled. They are a go. In fact we will soon be announcing the "Winter Triplecross" mini championship series. Those are the first two rounds, the third will be at VMP in January. These events will feature the lowest entry fees we have had in years, awesome courses, and lots of runs... for a maximum of 75 cars at each round. Please stay tuned for details! Time for bed, Jon |
