Had a great time as always and thanks to all the work and effort to those involved in making it possible. Nice to see a good turn out and the new interest generated by the freebie runs. Wish the vette guys would have hung around for more. To many downed cones and DNF`s to say the course was "open". Glad to see we will be having another event, hope we can make full use of the track with a longer course and a few fast sections. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Jon and Dale and all the NASA guys.
Thanks for your hard work. Fun day! Jon, would you double check my last run of 32.8xx? Remember we called in over the radio and timing said it was a clean run. Excellent course! This post has been edited by Bobby Smith: Sep 1 2008, 11:25 AM |

Hey Bobby, I believe it to be a +1 run (possibly as a late call after we inquired on the radio?), only because that's how it is shown on the master timing sheet:
http://www.get-fast.net/nasacross/083108reg_master.xls The above link is exactly as it was saved on the timing laptop at ~5:30pm yesterday. I made a copy and sorted results from that. Human errors are indeed possible but at this point I have no way of knowing anything but what's shown on there. My apologies. For the record, the test run for the new scoring system is tentatively this coming weekend during the Evo school at VMP. Our goals are to reduce problems/errors and make results available more quickly. It's an expensive upgrade, so hopefully it works... Jon |

I had a couple of guys in station three that were saying OMG did you see that!!!! every time you guys hit the track. But there was lots a people that were awesome. Some that really stuck out to me as well was the #111 neon in the second heat. The #56(?) mini in both heats. Jim in the #61 Miata. Rick in the #41 Spec E30 (great to see a road racer come out). #16 Cavalier with a first timer. The #91 Oldsmobile just to name a few. And the Smart car....we were cheering him on. What great fun it was to watch him. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/respect.gif) |

Great event, it was good to see some new faces, and great to hear that we'll be back at Langley again this season.
See everybody at the next one. |

Great event, I'm glad some newbies came out and it was good to see some of the roadrace guys representing as well.
I wasn't a fan of that finish but it kept the exit safe (I apologize if I scared the timing table a couple times by sliding toward yall (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ) I thought I was running some times that Nick and Bernie wouldn't be able to catch, looks like I was wrong once again. Lots of fast times on Sunday. See yall soon, Brian |

LOL. That's exactly why the timing table was set up *behind* the wall. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
Langley is a challenging place to have a course that is safe AND fun AND not slow... Jon |
